KELOMPOK 7. TASK 9

Dialog Personal Experience

Helen:Hey Helen, how was your day?

Mita:Pretty good. How was yours?

Helen:Nice. We practiced to make croissant again.

Last week some students burnt their croissant.... including me, hehehehe.

Mita:Croissant isn't hard to make, isn't it? It just that, it's quite time consuming.

Helen:It is. By the way, I'm curious about something.

Helen:What motivates you to keep going, eventhough you know culinary school is hard?

Mita:Aah... It's because of people I saw when I was a kid.

(Aah... Itu karena seseorang yang kulihat semasa aku kecil.)Helen:Go on.

Mita:I was still in elementary school when my mom and dad owned a small restaurant. Everyday, they served homecooked and Western meals. Everyone loved to come to our little restaurant. Our regular customer said that we were not only serving delicious meals, but also warmth and sense of family. Many of our regulars were people who came from far away. So, when they ate at our restaurant, they felt at home.
Helen:Wow, that sounds heartwarming.

(Wow, itu terdengar menghangatkan hati.)Mita:Yeah. But since my parents passed away, our restaurant was closed. They closed it when I was a junior high student. Since that day, I was determined to reopen the restaurant. I want to see those people who feel satisfied and happy with our meals. That is, what motivates me to keep going in this school... Eh, are you crying?

(lya. Tapi sejak orangtuaku meninggal, restoran kami tutup. Mereka menutupnya ketika aku masih SMP. Sejak saat itu, aku bertekad untuk membuka kembali restorannya. Aku ingin melihat orang-orang yang merasa puas dan bahagia dengan makanan kami. Itulah, apa yang memotivasiku untuk terus berjuang di sekolah ini... Eh, kamu menangis?)

Helen:Huaaa.... It is sad and beautiful at the same time! I wish you can reopen the restaurant, Mita! Huhuhuhu...

(Huaaa..... Ini menyedihkan dan indah di saat yang bersamaan! Aku harap kamu bisa membuka kembali restorannya, Mita! Huhuhuhu....)
Mita: Thank you, buddy. (Terima kasih, kawan.)

Man: I drove to the mountains and went hiking.
Woman: That sounds fun!

Conversation 2

Man: Did you do anything this weekend?
Woman: I did. I took the train to the city and met my friend.
Man: Oh, yeah! What did you do?
Woman: We had lunch and did some shopping.
Man: Did you buy anything?
Woman: No, I didn’t. I just went window shopping. I’m trying to save money.
Man: Me too!

Conversation 3

Man: How was your day?
Woman: Terrible. I was so busy.
Man: Oh, that’s too bad.

Woman: The boss came in and helped us.

Conversation 4

Man: Did you talk to Bob?
Woman: I did. He said he was sorry.
Man: What did he say?
Woman: He said he didn’t mean to get mad at you.
Man: Well, he did. He made me cry.
Woman: I know. But he is really sorry about it.

conversation 5

Scott : :Hi, Lizzy Long time no see!

Lizzy : :Oh, hello Dina! You’re right. It was just 2 weeks, but I still missed you!
Lizzy : :Oooh, is that true? By the way, how did you spend your school holiday?
Lizzy ; : I went to my grandparents’ house. It is in a village.
Scott : : The air and surrounding in the village must be nice.
Lizzy : : It is! The air is so fresh, there are many green plants and trees, and there are many rivers as well! We swam in the river, and caught many fish!

Scott : : Wow, did you catch them by yourself?
Lizzy : : Of course not! My big brother did it for me. My sister also caught them easily, while I couldn’t do it! I wonder why.
Scott: Hmm, maybe because you weren’t agile enough?
Lizzy: That could be the reason. Anyway, these are the fish we caught. Have some.
Scott : :Wow, so big! Is this okay?
Lizzy : :Yes, take a fish. It’s delicious!
Scott : :Thank you Alin!
Scott : :Me? I also went to my grandparents’ house.
Lizzy : :Tell me more.
Scott : :Alright, so…. Because my grandparent own a petshop, I tried to keep their shop.
Lizzy : :Wow, a petshop! Was it fun?
Scott : :It was a superb experience. I really like pets, so I was very happy when I kept the shop. My grandfather even gave me a pair of hamster as a gratitude.
Lizzy : :That is amazing! I want to see your hamsters!
Scott : :Afterschool, want to come to my house?
Lizzy : :Let’s go!
